Equipment gains, gains, gains.
Great to have Surrey Cricketer @laurieevans32 in the house today. What can I say, I can count on one hand how many players have brought in this many clubs for a testing session. The goal- to reduce variables in every area to find the best performing set of clubs available.

- After brutal interrogation 😂and some initial testing we found Laurie needs control on his irons and needs spin… but is also a very late releaser with tonnes of speed.

- After looking at Lauries’s DNA numbers we discovered he is super smooth in transition but holds bend in the shaft until very late in the downswing.

Typically Laurie is fitted for ski pole super heavy shafts for control. The upshot is that he can’t get the feel he requires to consistently hit centre of face and control spin numbers for improved land angle and accuracy.

So we played with weight and flex and after a solid hours testing we ended up in the slightly lighter DGX100 120gm and a set of @mizuno S3 irons.

Feel in the shaft for centred hit then more launch, more spin with the head.

The combo proved to be way tighter in shape and dispersion.

More balls closer to the flag. Winner

Driver work was made easier as we already had load/unload data.

Laurie had heads a plenty but we found overall total driving stats came out best with a 53gm Diamana White with an #elyte TD @10.5 degrees.

Laurie responded really well to firm tipped lighter weight shafts. Across the bag helping the FLOW of the set.

How do we know- Ball speed consistently increased shot for shot - more centred hits. Head Loft and Cog takes care of launch and spin.

Bombs with more clear second shots- WINNER

Oh… and then he produced a performance that slotted Laurie right at the top of our TOTAL DRIVING leaderboard. With the driver we just fitted him for.

Louis has been working with his coach @nickwlloyd and it’s time to level up the irons moving from big game improvement irons to a set of beautiful forged cavities. Feel becoming more important than out and out forgiveness. Heavier more stable shafts to assist load control to apply the sweetspot to the ball as often as possible.
